Edwardsville Christian Church is a non-denominational congregation.  Our focus as a church family is to live each day in such a way so we may bring honor and glory to Jesus Christ.  This is the foundation for all we do and teach.  We strive to be a church family that puts into practice the principles of God's love and grace in every relationship.

We believe that God lives and that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God.  We believe the Bible is the inerrant Word of God, our only rule of faith and practice.  

Here are some of the areas of faith that ECC values:

     We choose not to be part of a denominational structure. 
     We do not believe that we are the only Christians but we want to be Christians only. 
     We believe that Jesus is the Christ, the only Son of God, 
          that his life, as presented in scripture is truth.  
          that Jesus died on the cross for the sins of mankind, 
          that Jesus rose physically on the morning of the third day
          that in accepting Jesus by faith and obedience one can be saved from sin.
          that Jesus will some day return and all mankind will stand before God to be judged.

We practice immersion as the biblical means of being born again into Jesus.

We make it our goal not to judge people based on outward appearances.  God accepts each person not on the basis of how good we are, but on the basis of His love and grace for us.  We believe that we are not the only Christians, but we strive to be Christian only.  One visible way this is evident is in the observance of the Lord's Supper.  Communion is available weekly for all who wish to partake.  Each individual is free to choose whether to partake or not.  Membership in Edwardsville Christian Church is not required to partake.  Every believer in Jesus is invited to share in this time of reflection and communion.

We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and that the Bible is true in everything it teaches.  Based on this truth, is our conviction that we should follow the pattern of the church as it is found in the New Testament.  We try to differentiate between that which is biblical truth and that which reflects merely man's opinion and views,  Our goal is to follow the admonition "Where the Bible is speaks, we speak.  Where the Bible is silent, we are silent". 

We recognize that believers come from many different backgrounds and experiences.  This leads to a wide range of opinions and the occasion for disagreements. It is our aim to have as a guide for all relationships within our church family the following:  In faith; unity.  In opinions; liberty.  In all things; love.  We desire to be known as a congregation that lives and reflects the love of God both inside and outside the church.

Our building is located at the corner of Kansas Highway 32 and 4th Street (Edwardsville Rd.) in downtown Edwardsville. 

Directions off of I-70:  We are located about 4 miles South of the Kansas Speedway, as you take the 110th Street exit off of I-70.  110th Street becomes Edwardsville Rd.  Follow Edwardsville Road to the stoplight.  Our building will be on the right hand side of the road at the corner as you come to the stoplight.

Directions from 435 or K-7:  North on 435 or K-7 until just after you cross the Kaw River.  Take the exit to K-32.  Approximately two miles west of 435 on K-32.  Approximately 4 miles east of K-7 on K-32.
